Does replacing the seat beats get
rid of the airbag light?

The warning could be a buckle failure. This is the most common. Get the code checked tho' as it could be the clock-spring in the steering wheel bag.

Clock spring replacement resolved mine on a 1999.

That was the case on the Boxster your son bought from me, and we were able to clear it with a reset. That fixed mine for half a year

Yes sir Matt. I ended up replacing that buckle. Remove the seat, new buckle, clear code & go!
