3L Motor components value estimate
Hello Pelicanites. My 3-liter motor finally gave up on me after a pretty good run of years.
I have an upgrade build in the works so I have some of the old components which I believe will have value to someone. I can't tell you the specific specs but everything is from a stock 1978 SC 3 liter motor. I have the rods, cylinders and pistons. Obviously, the condition is used. The good news, if there is any, is that the motor didn't fail... it was just displaying worrying symptoms and after failing a leakdown we elected to retire it. I'd like to ask the more knowledgeable members here if they would be willing to share what they feel these things are worth. Because I won't be using them, I'll be offering them up for sale shortly. If there's a specific area detail I can photograph that will help with this let me know. For what its worth I'll be building a 3.2 short-stoke twin-plug ignition motor for my hot rod. Pretty excited about that but I have a lot of cash to assemble to pay for it. Thanks very much. For the pistons, watch the WTB ads and you can sell them as singles, one or two at a time. $50-75 each
I bought a set of rods like that last year for $500. I’m not up on the cylinder prices. See what a place like Engine Builder Supply charges as a core charge for their replated ones, and 50-60% of that is fair. |
That's super helpful Matt... thanks very much.
