It’s built on a 964. No 930s were harmed in the making of this car.

Lol...correct Matt....but I anticipate it will have a very "positive" effect on 930 values...

ItzaMe 02-10-2022 08:36 AM

I was waiting for someone to post this!

I was also thinking they were going to use 930 chassis but kind of glad it's still 964 based :)

Either way, love the engineering and design / homage to the 930.

Can't wait to see who puts out the first video review on the car!!

matt930s 02-10-2022 08:49 AM

Yup Itchy!

NOW, you have a path for your 964 tub!

Mocker 02-10-2022 09:08 AM

With the wheelbase and overall dimensions of the 911/930/964/993 chassis, wheels bigger than 17" just look way too big and cartoonish, IMO. YMMV, etc.

Glenfield 02-10-2022 09:36 AM

I’m a little surprised by this. From a pure aesthetic standpoint, I am not sure how “re-imagined” this 930 actually is. Students of 930s will point out the differences, but to me it looks very subtle, and I don’t see the fairy dust. Less ambitious and far more faithful. Makes me think about what’s afoot with the ever closening relationship between Porsche and Singer given the persistent rumors of a Porsche IPO. Which will almost certainly be as a luxury brand vs an auto maker

OK-944 02-10-2022 10:08 AM

Gorgeous for sure...but a bit hard to stomach the possibility (assuming it gets driven) that any errant drips of oil or whatever might violate the walls of that engine compartment!

There’s a lot of carbon fiber there. It’s more akin to a GT2 Evo than a 930. It just looks 930ish.

kc911s 02-10-2022 10:43 AM

I like how they said there was an internal battle with making it have the famous turbo lag. In the end they didn’t dial in any turbo lag. But said they could do it if the customer was adamant enough about wanting some.

Matt Monson 02-10-2022 11:23 AM

How visceral.

Glenfield 02-10-2022 11:30 AM

It’s a Porsche built blown engine in the back. Think they mentioned it has the standard Carerra turbos. A lot of engineering at Porsche has gone into making those turbo non-turbo engines less turboey and so I reckon that’s carried over here

dwelle 02-10-2022 01:31 PM

*yawn*...

Matt Monson 02-10-2022 05:35 PM

3.8 twin turbo with AWIC intercoolers. 450hp. That’s more 956 than 930.

Cobalt 02-14-2022 05:15 AM

Just another 964 being chopped up to become something it isn't. Sadly a friend is asking me to help locate a tub as he just placed an order for one.

I will see a lot more power out of my twin turbo build but at least it will look like a 964 RSR.

^^^ It appears Guards Red does not hurt the sales price of 959's.

I like the Singer 930 more than the long hood. That interior is perfect.

shlobeck 02-17-2022 06:45 AM

I really like what they did with this “tribute” but it can’t replace the real thing. Now if Porsche can only built something like this at the fraction of the price.

I'm not sure why anyone would want to pay half a million dollars to voluntarily get three-mississippi boost lag with 500hp when they can get it for under a hundred with 300hp and have the same thrills in a 930.

Half a million? I bet it’s going to be much more than that.

Agree, and I would love to own that, hell, I might invest in the "Redneck Retirement Fund
"
This 930 is local, but has a 3.6 engine instead of the correct 3.0 turbo. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1645154109.jpg

Seafoam Green? Good looking turbo.

I believe from what I hear and you don't have to pay $100k for a 964 donor you will be into one for around $1M.

Glenfield 02-18-2022 04:19 AM

I cant come close to reconciling $1mm for the turbo “study”. When major auto OEMs dip into their back catalogue, they add some modern trim, larger wheels and LED lights. Bronco and Ford GT40 come to mind (minus the lights). It’s as if Singer got bit with the same bug here. For an extra 600k, I’d be GMA t33. Lot of clams for cars thought ain’t it

Baizuo Pride! 02-24-2022 04:14 AM

One of the all time great automobiles.

Nice to see you after a long time. I'm no special expert on 911 colors, when I hear sea foam it's more to do with wood stoves, especially soap stone types.

Cobalt 03-10-2022 03:24 AM

I think Seafoam is a little more green. I had a friend with a 77 turbo in seafoam. All original paint but badly worn through. ^^^ BTW beautiful turbo

Funny I don't see anyone laughing as prices continue to escalate. We will be seeing less new cars here in upcoming months so I suspect prices will continue to rise on the classics.

I severely regret selling my 964 to Singer a few years back, it was a 1989 C4 that needed the update/top end job but I had the perfect early 993 jugs and pistons on the shelf to do it. The money for the car as-is seemed good at the time and they really needed a donor. I like Rob and the guys over there a lot and I love Singers but wish I still had the car. That's on me.

Of course, no one could see the kooky prices on everything 911 these days. :(
