Who Manufactures Classic Porsche Fenders

Who manufactures classic Porsche fenders for Porsche classic. I was told jp group / dansk or Porsche has the original molds and uses those to reproduce and both people that told me this are TOP Porsche Back date specialists. IDK. Any help is appreciated.

Here’s what I heard. Dansk makes them for Porsche using Porsche molds. When Dansk makes them for themselves, they use their own molds. Even though this is just my understanding, I believe it since Porsche brand fenders that I purchased at the Porsche dealer for worlds better than Dansk brand. That’s also the feedback I get from the guys at the Porsche shop where I used to work.

Fit. The radius around the cowl and leading edge of the door was spot on. Just setting them in place, they fit well. When I worked at the shop, the metal guy considered the Dansk parts to be the starting point for a long day of work.

Here’s a bonus tip. Even though I purchased them from my local dealer, I bought them on their discount site - Delaware Porsche parts dot com. They were ~ $1,600 per fender vs $2,400 retail. I live nearby so I picked them up and saved hundreds in shipping.

Remember, some of the parts being sold by Restoration Design are Dansk. The way they explained it to me was that anything on their site that was black was a Dansk part.

I believe my new roof skin was dansk but came from Porsche directly. I had to doa. lot of finish work to make it right the molds are clearly getting old and the corners not as crisp as they were originally.

I had my local dealer / parts guy email Porsche Germany and ask if Dansk makes body parts for Porsche. Their reply was "NO we make our own parts"

Porsche has a ton of outside suppliers making their parts.

I spend a lot of time at the dealership my son works at. I don't see how a dealership can tell if Dansk makes the parts or not. parts like mufflers and such are marked on the part Dansk and have the OE triangle but fenders and roof skins have just Porsche markings on the crate they come in. It doesn't mean they are made by one or another sometimes it could be any number of suppliers.

I suspect Porsche classic would outsource these from someone like dansk. Although my roof skin only had Porsche tags on it. It doesn't mean Porsche made it. I picked up a master cylinder for a 993 TT and when I got it it was the exact part I could have purchased aftermarket from TRW. the only difference was the box had a Porsche sticker on it.

Here is the crate my roof skin came in. I didn't see any Dansk or other manufacturer markings but the tooling has been used and some of the edges needed some finessing to make look correct.
