i wonder if it was insured for the actual value? or if that is even possibly? i guess a hagerty or the like might insure it if one was prepared to pay the premium (10k a year or so?).

I thought I read or heard the body was all carbon. Seems roof and doors stay steel.

Doors are steel and even if the car is a carbon roof option it still maintains the steel roof frame and pillars but this one was likely a non-sunroof car which typically do not get a carbon roof

Forget about burnt to a crisp cars, a Singer no less. I've had a 993 burnt up top but still there and manual for 5K 20 years ago.

I'm interested in your Ruf btr muffler, or is it your friend's part? Still don't know but I need one.

Agreed value should be no problem as long as you have proof of what the purchase price was. I’m sure those with the means to own one have more than enough insurance on one. I don’t know why anyone with a nice classic car would chance not carrying agreed value insurance.

You'd be surprised at the number of people that don't!

She was a Singer, yet no vocal chords left with which to sing. I do feel sorry for her. Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, if it weren't for women our wienies would rust. Poetry at its worst, yet fitting for the occasion.

And it's just a 964 old VIN correct?

No fancy schmancy singer VIN... Right?

So it's worth scrap by the pound.....

Carbonfiber is literally cloth with resin and when all of the resin melted away all that is left is the carbon cloth

A 100k agreed policy Hagerty is only $1200ish a year, cheap for what you get.

glass cloth does NOT burn and is common to see glass cloth after a fire

Carbon-fiber burns up so no there will be no carbon cloth left after a major fire

Umm I think the car is evidence to the contrary.

As I said already, pay no attention to charred carnage. In the wildfires houses were burnt to a crisp too! No one still conjectures who built them or how well they were built. Most have probably already been dozed off the land they sat on. There is no land under this car.

Worth more if it wasn't a Singer. A heck of lot more of the body would still be there....
