Seems legit. That’s the same my car last sold for (post me) with same year coupe and similar mileage. Good color too. You’re right in there.

I think you are actually on the low side. Great color.

Nice car. I'll go ahead and ask--what's its replacement?

So for the past two years Ive that 911 as well as a 2003 Boxster S
I’ve wanted a Boxster ass since they were introduced but ironically for almost a decade it was cheaper to have an air cooled 3.2 before the market boom around 11 years ago
When I found myself financially able to carry both, I knew I could try the boxster without making what could’ve been a huge mistake by selling the 911 to get it
And simply put - at age 50 I love the air conditioning, the power steering the high-end CD player and that mid engine as I start to crack into it, including on the track with what seems like a whole new world of handling capabilities

So realistically I’m going to explore mid engine models for the next five or eight years and then I’ll miss the air cooled and circle back )

Fun. I hated the 986 Boxster seats. I had the 987 Cayman, and for a guy with a bad back, it was a far superior driver. I think my next Porsche will likely be a 987.2 Boxster, or maybe even a 981. They are great cars, imo.

Unless something changed, they aren't charging tariffs on cars over 25 years old. They never have.

Correct, they are exempt from the additional auto tariff of 25%(still have to pay the 2.5% 25 year old tariff), but not exempt from the IEEPA reciprocal tariffs.

I had 2 993s loaded on a ship from Japan on August 2, 2025 and have to pay the original 2.5% plus the reciprocal tariff rate for Japan of 15%. The tariffs are stacking so it comes to 17.5% tariffs.

Here's a response from an Import Specialist at CBP that I emailed last week:

Good morning and thank you for contacting U.S. Customs and Border Protection. Our office has had quite a lot of inquiries regarding importing cars over 25 years old. My response I am providing importers and brokers is to explain a little about the tariffs and why you will pay tariffs.

The way the tariffs are structured, the importer must be paying some form of Section 232 tariffs. For example, both 9903.94.04 (exclusion for cars older than 25 years) and 9903.01.33 (exclusion for various goods including passenger vehicles) cannot be claimed on the same line. 9903.01.33 can only be used when some form of Section 232s are being paid. If you import of a car over 25 years old, you aren’t paying 232 duties therefore you will pay IEEPA (Reciprocal) duties and would be imposed by including 9903.01.25.

That’s a change. They weren’t charging them previously.
