Did anybody see the 930 on eBay?
For the last week, there was an unmolested 1983 930 euro for sale on eBay. Seller was located in Ormond Beach FL? Car was listed as "not running" and in need of a total engine rebuild. Bid gets up to $11,300 with two days to go and Seller delists it. Seller indicates a guy from Germany called and bought the car in a private transaction for $15K. Also indicated the Buyer's shipping agent tells him this is the sixth car this chap has bought and shipped to Germany.
Anybody got any thoughts or insight on this deal???

Not much I can say on that deal but I am not surprised, even though it sounds strange I have sold two cars to buyers from Germany in the past year, right now the Euro is very strong and from the looks of things it will continue to be, the older car's are hard to find in Europe and when you do either they are completely ragged/rusted out or the price is close to two or three times the price of the same car here, so it pays them to ship them over and pay the tax on them. Both my buyers were in their mid to late 40's

yes, the old classic Porsches are almost impossible to find in good condition over there. The lack of California-type weather year round is the culprit.
