Cops, lawyers, et al...Requesting support for Miami 911 purchase

(maybe "lawyers, guns and money"?)

;-)

I am looking at a car in Miami (964 C2) so am wondering if anyone can provide guidance on the following:

How do I get a FL title looked at to make sure that its valid? (I ran a carfax and all seemed OK)

Where do I find law enforcement resources who can do a National Crime Information Center (NCIC) check on the seller? What do I need to provide to them? (I'm not sure that I'd be too happy to provide my SS#, for example, to an out-of-town buyer, if the show were on the other foot.)

Are any of you local Pelicaners willing to do a look-see for me and maybe send some pics?

TIA for your help,

Phil

Firstly, if you're as paranoid as you seem.. then you probably don't need to buy this car!

Secondly, there are no law enforcement resources that will wast the time, and effort, nor open themselves up to the laibility of running an NCIC on someone for the purchase of a stupid car!!

I had never considered the "valid title" nor NCIC issues until they were brought up in a phone call I had this morning.

I was working on the Carfax/PPI/go have a look approach.

And, BTW, I was just asking for insights, not a psychological profile...

long distance porsche

hi.if in my opinion, you are buying long distance, the buyer should furnish, any info on the car,i did a deal last year with a guy in germany, and we scanned our d/l and title for my car, plus banking info of course .to each other.that was about the extent of our personal info.he sent the money and i sent the car.turned out fine. i think if the seller has nothing to hide he will be only to happy to give you any info that is required to sell the car,if he is evasive .then the red flag should start to go up.as if you start asking silly or unreasonable questions the same applies to him the seller.hope that helps, best of luck with the transaction,

It comes down to trust. Either you have it or you don't. This must be one heck of a 964 to want such a guarantee.
