Market Value Of 1994 Porsche 911 Carrera 2?

Hello All,

I'm giving serious thought to putting my 1994 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 Coupe (Type 964) up For Sale...I bought it nearly four years ago for $17,500 from the third owner, who bought it in 2000..I drive it daily and have the Chattanooga dealer do all service and repairs...It currently has 64,981 miles...It was built 08/28/1993 in Stuttgart...My informal research indicates it was one of the last regular production 964 models built...It's Midnight Blue Metallic with Cashmere Beige/Black interior...Other than upgraded 17-inch OEM Porsche alloy wheels and a few maintenance items - Zimmerman drilled brake rotors front and rear for example - it is bone stock...The Porsche Certificate of Authenticity shows 40-percent Limited Slip Differential, CR-1 AM/FM Radio with Cassette Player, Full Driver's Side Power Seat, Cashmere Beige Porsche Floormats and Rim Caps with Porsche Crest...I have documents going back to date of sale including original window sticker...This car has been serviced REGULARLY...I have all service records - including dealer invoices for each 15K service - the most recent 15K service was performed one year ago at Porsche of Chattanooga...The car looks GREAT...It runs and drives PERFECTLY and EVERYTHING works just like it should including ICE COLD AIR CONDITIONING...It's ready for new tires, and it DESPERATELY needs taillights and a center reflector...A comprehensive professional detail would be a good move too...This car stickered for nearly $70,000 new...I have everything that came with it, i.e. both regular keys and valet key, both wheel lock keys, owner's manual, OEM tool kit and wrap, spare wheel and tire, 12v air compressor...This is my DAILY DRIVER and ONLY car...Not a garage queen...I welcome ALL input...I will happily email photos to anyone upon request...Thanks!

Respectfully Yours,

Robert T. "Artie" Nash

Chattanooga, Tennessee

Coupe? Targa? Cab?

On this site clean up the ad, remove the flowery language (most here don't care how much it cost new. they were all expensive ).

1994 964 C2 ______ (Coupe? targa, cab)
65,000 miles
Midnight Blue over Cashmere/Black int.
Records since new
List out the options (and their codes) as listed under the trunk lid

Needs: Tailights, reflector (I am told these can be expensive), Tires (another $500-1,000) and a detailing

questions you migth get asked:
Any engine work (besides maintenance?)
Hows the body work? any accidents?
Original clutch?

964 prices can be anywhere from $15K-25K it seems, for "drivers".

Sounds like a nice car.

And, Pictures are worth a thousand words, so get lots of pics!

The Mitsubishi i-MIEV in the pic is a Japanese-spec production model I had custody of for 10 days or so back in late 2010...I got to dog 'n' pony it for media, students, engineer clubs, civic groups and so on...Other than the range - purported to be 80 miles on a full charge - it was a surprisingly effective commuter...On one occasion it stranded me roadside after only 62 miles, but in all fairness, I was using lights, AC, radio and wipers...Electricity is cheap in these parts...Tennessee Valley Authority has a fleet of them...Between federal and state tax credits you can knock about $7,000 off M.S.R.P...I've driven current production offerings...Think very quiet SmartCar, only slower...

I'm very interested about the "Real" market value of the 93-94 964 C2 Coupe with less than 80K miles as well.

I found one listing for $33K recently.

It really does depend on the condition of the car overall. <80k miles is great. Except when there is leaking oil, stuff doesn't work, scratches and dents, ripped leather, etc, etc.

As opposed to a well-kept driver that looks great in and out, but has 120k miles.

On these cars, miles are down the list. Condition means a lot more.

Why?

Why sell it? With this car's history, documentation, and low mileage chances are you'll be hard pressed to ever find another one as good. I also think its a plus being such a late 964. To me it would seem like a great car to keep for the rest of your life. If you must- put great tires on it, fix the lights, and have it detailed. I would ask 25K. I think a lot of us here would love to have a car like this to DD while we tinker with our older 911s.

Good point! Low mileage may not worth the premium price.

I think I'd buy it for $17,500. First thing I'd do is lower it though

Cheers

I have been following Ben's sale of his C2. He got 19k for a car that had more miles, is an earlier model and was not in as good a shape. I would start advertising this car at $25k with room to negotiate and see where that takes you.

1990 964 c2

It all depends on the market you are in. In Hawaii, the market sucks for Porsches. My friend had a hard time selling his Wimbledon Green 94 964 with 80k on it. He did all updates and maintenance and sold the car for @ $12k. Another friend sold his 84 Carrera with 96k on it for $9k. Both cars were in very good condition with no leaks.

Sounds like a business opportunity. What's shipping back to the mainland?
