Lots of 912's were made from August to December 31, 1965. Most if not all early 912's had 3 gauges, the very earlier ones had body color dashes. it's got the wrong motor !!! That's a Vw type 4 motor. Needs lots of photos to see how much rust it really has !!!

Crack Head....need his fix in a big way.

I really like the design of the motor mounts, hopefully they will remain after the restoration.

I think that 60K is a bit much even though his talented friend will "restore" it. Just made a bid for 35K - If he takes it I will be 25K up just like that....... hook, line, sinker.....Sweet!

What 60k restoration doesn't include windows OUT ??
And uses newspaper for masking paper ???

techweenie 04-28-2013 02:14 PM

You guys are all so picky. I think this seller must be related to the man in Canada with the '71 911 he thinks is worth $16 million.

If you consider how rare a VW Type IV engine was in 1965... well, it was from the future don't you know.

upwardr 04-28-2013 07:06 PM

That Canadian is my neighbor, and I agree unlikely worth 16 mil, I offered 15.5 mill
tops. That allows 1/2 mill for restoration after that pure gravy.

techweenie 04-28-2013 07:17 PM

Dude, $15.1 million, tops.

Eh?

Wow! $60K and they seriously just tied a motor into the engine bay just to have "something" filling the hole. This guy must think that buyers are really, really, really stupid.
