1975 Carrera Maybe the nicest around ?

What am I missing here?

75 Carrera, CIS, color change, and $72,500 !
No doubt a very nice looking car and the restoration appears very meticulous, but 72 large ?

1975 Carrera Maybe the nicest around

"If I don’t find that buyer, then this is the look that I prefer and I can enjoy it ..."

Looks like he will be keeping it. Its been for sale for about a year, and although it looks he has made a few very nice choices at the end of the day it seems like a lot of show and not much go. After all those mods why not put a hot rodded 3.0 or 3.2 in the car. The market has spoken on that one

I think ironically if he had ignored what people had said and bought it back to its original bitter choc and cinnamon interior but added all the goodies he has. He probably would have sold it or got an offer closer to his asking price by now.

What man isn't fond of his Weenie? You would have to pay me more than $72k for me to sell mine

Was more expensive to begin with.

The text in the ad is strange too. I would not own the car, but someone looking for a shined up car could pay 40K.

Nice looking but has been "touched" a lot by the owner. 3.2 CS wannabe!

When you build a car to suit your taste it is very hard to find someone with the exact mindset to buy it. Like everyone else I believe with the original colors it would receive offers in the $55 range.

Then again people are paying near $30 for 74-76 drivers that aren't Carrera's so anything can happen.

Look like nice car but I would have went full hot rod or stayed original.

the front end looks like it wants to be lowered a bit.

and the front hood seems like it does not line up exactly with the fender.

overall, looks very nice. If I had 70K, I would buy a nice 930.

Just bought a bitter chocolate sc. Beautiful color. What would this car be worth if original color? How about if the current color scheme was original? Just curious.

I think an original 74 US Carrera coupe in a good period color could easily bring $70k today at retail, maybe even a bit more. For whatever reason, the 75 Carrera is less desirable (perhaps the tail), and prices are not as high. Keep in mind that original doesn't mean restored. Truly original cars are commanding a significant premium today.

One of my fave color combinations white / gold on a early Carera
but 70 grand and allegedly a concours resto but they can't even get the correct option 565 Carrera steering wheel, just a horrible tacky wrongly proportioned looking wheel.
Came as factory radio delete but now there is a radio in there ... its the lack of attention to detail that would put me off

To sm70911. Please keep your opinions to yourself and get your facts straight. Look at the listing date. March 8th is not a year ago.

Also check the facts. The price has not changed. Also, if this car is not for you, why do you want more pictures.

I still have the euro 3.2, now with a top end rebuild. I also have a fresh euro 3.0 with 964 cams. I also still have the 86 euro gearbox with the LSD and cooler. These options would be offered to all prospective, serious buyers.

Concerning the hood line, also please look at the 74 Carrera in Marietta. Its hood line looks the same.
As for the ride height, this car has won many autocross and has never been slammed. Most of the car it beat, were slammed. Lowering a car ruins the ride without any real handling benefits.

Notice that the Marietta car has 7 and 8 inch alloys instead of the 6 and 7's as well and a misaligned hood.
Very few 28 year old cars are truly original.

To any serious buyers.

You can do a private email to me, I would rather talk to a prospective buyer on the phone than email them.

True, and you chose to restore yours in a non-original configuration. Granted you went with a classic color combo which looks great. That said, big money pricing requires a restoration to be done in colors exterior/interior as it left the factory.

Good luck with the sale
