Yes, it is indeed hard to believe that some previous owner did not remove that foolish looking thing at some point. Each to their own, obviously, but original or not, I would be embarrassed to have that graphic on my car.

I've since modded the car and have had a great time with it. I felt like I made a fair buy on the car given that I am the third owner and I have documentation on it dating all the way back to its original purchase, including the original window sticker.

I guess my thoughts were that I would hope I could get close to what I paid for it if I were to ever sell it, but it seems maybe $48K would be low at this point?

Pictures of when I bought it:

Garnet Red is really an interesting color; it looks a lot different depending on the light.

Anyhow - I love the car and don't really have any desire to sell it, but knowing there is a potential upside to it's value doesn't hurt.

Chris.
a beauty!!!!

It's listed in both the 1976 and 1989 Porsche PETs, so I would say that it was an available option for all years.

turbo script graffix rule, Ronnie's ignoramus bedamned

uberdiscoperiod correct...

Ronnie... yer Daily's a Camry, ain't it. Or, Toreass. I just know it. Do you bore others into a sleepy narcoleptic coma w/ yer mediocrity and normalcy by default or do you need to work as tirelessly at it as it would appear?

Ha! No Camry or Toreass (never heard of that) over here - my only other non-motorcycle vehicle is a 1990 E350 Diesel, 17' box truck that I've owned for about 15 years (of course, "the rape van" according to my friends). I don't think that would be considered too "normal". It even gets worse fuel economy than the turbo!

And turbo script graphics are fitting for the rainbow crowd ONLY!

PS - Paul, a big ole for you!

I can't say I love the graphic, but if the car had it when it left the factory, that's how I'd want it. It's a period piece

Prices rise, prices fall. At a certain point, and we're now at that point, there are only but so many left, and then the bottom feeding comes out and even crap cars are restored and kept or sold. With varying degrees of quality. That makes the originals worth that much more. Happens with many enthusiast cars. It's just cool (to me) to see cars not really depreciate at all. And in many instances, gain value vs where they were 10-15 years ago

I guess my question has been answered. I wondered if Ronnie and Paul were friends and Paul had a dry sense of humor.

I've come to the conclusion after reading other post of Paul's, he must be a walking talking penis, albeit a very small one.

Paul's and my exchanges are, in fact, just a bit of silly chain yankin' (or as he calls it "good old fashion baulbustin") - no offence intented, or taken, on either side (including the middle finger and "FU" references). It's all in good fun, but probably a bit hard for others to get when remarks are read without prior knowledge of our shenanigans on here!

BUT, I'm reasonably certain (not from personal experience, mind you) that Paul IS indeed size-challenged down thar!

I usually read and try to learn about our cars, Paul has been kinda hard on the OP about his 100% original car for sale and that may be in jest also, I can't say.

It just leaves an outsider with a negative impression.

Ray Joseph is going to have two low mileage slants listed soon. It will be interesting to see the prices.

So... you resort to name calling... to someone you don't know? Huh.

Yeah, Ronnie and others and I enjoy a good ribbing. Thing is, yeah - we actually know eachother, and for many years.

The hard time I've given Tony P is well earned honestly. He'd been posting here for months touting some pretty thick BS about only early cars w/ 930 VINs being "real 930s" and how they're worth more and better and and and and. It just wore tiresomely thin / old after all that drum beating.

So when he'd then put his car up for sale - very evident he was trying to primp the market in anticipation of listing his car mind you - and then very clearly stated in his ad that the car was "100% original"... I took him to the mat on it and called him out on it, as it is not.

He not only conveniently disregarded the inquiry - worse - he relisted the car w/ the same misrepresentation.

Hard time? I coulda been harder honestly. It was mostly tongue in cheek, as I'm not overtly a dbag (just passively).

Alas... not everyone's gonna like me - and I'm OK w/ that. Tho hmmmm I've hung w/ and driven with a few dozen of the fukkerz here... they seemed OK with me at least (prolly fakin it).

(thanks fer the thought Pete!)

But yeah - name calling... gotchya.

Not 100% original unless it still has the original German air, in the unusable, except for storage, tires. Had one like that not to long ago, what a booorish thing, not for me, glad to see it go, except for the extra $$$$$$ now. Just service items being replaced, in commensurate with miles claimed, are still vary rare and some " 100% original "? ones have had more done to them than that.

Put all the stock body and other stuff back on ( for those just starting out ) and I would think so, if you factor in what you could sell the non stock stuff for, especially if there is another bump in Hagerty and other price evaluation guides.

I don't know why anyone would want to return it to bone stock. I know that the purist want it all original, but it runs so much better now. I've got 30k in Elephant suspension, intercooler, intake, headers, muffler, clutch, LWFW, Wevo shifter, K27/29 turbo, Tial 46 mm wastegate, lithium battery (4lbs) tuned to a very safe 365 rwhp at .8 bar, corner balanced, weighs 2671 with a half a tank of gas and on and on. The interior is bone stock and the leather is original, the only change is the CDR 220 radio. It would be a shame to pull all of that off to go back to stock. You buy it, I'll give you all of the parts, and you can return her to stock making her slower and heavier for the sake of purity.
