Carfax Mileage question
I'm looking at a '91 964 with around 43,000 miles. The carfax backs up the mileage as being accurate, but there is one questionable entry. The initial record is in 1995 with 385 miles. What gives ya' think?
This isn't going to sway me one way or the other regarding the car, just wondering if anyone had a reasonable explanation.... |

Carfax is not always accurate. They just report whats reported to them. I frequently get cars where a shop who did service fat fingered and entered the wrong miles or state employees did.
Carfax is just a tool for buyers and sellers. I have easily corrected many many carfaxes as long asI had a paper trail.

I've ran several CarFax and Autocheck reports on Carrera 3.2s' and none of the data predates 1994. I had assumed that's when these databases of records initiated.
