2007 997 tt What price is going to make it a smart buy?

Thanks in advance for your opinions and input.

Ryan

So...I found a buyer for my pantera now I have to make a decision to buy..or sit on the cash, lease an Audi S4 and find a 964 to backdate.

I located a local, 2007 tt sunroof car. Atlas Grey/black interior 35k miles

Interior:

very nice condition

Non adaptive seats, Sport chrono package, multi function steering wheel, suede? headliner

Drive train: Tiptronic S

Engine/exhaust stock with stock exhaust, 30k service performed, includes a VR Tuning flash tuner

Steel brakes not ceramic

Will need rear tires in 5-7k per owner

Additional new front lip incl.

Now,

I've been driving an auto for the past couple years. I drove highly modified mustang cobras and my pantera. I would never consider driving a purely auto car if it were a cobra, however if I was in stop and go traffic a heavy clutch would drive me nuts.

My concern I guess would be that the resale value on the Tip vs a manual or PDK car (which is more additional financing above the proceeds of the pantera sale) than I want to bit off.

I have already rationalized it to myself that the car will most likely not depreciate below the $40 something thousand I'm putting down and the $2-300 a month payment will kind be like an inexpensive "lease" payment to have a the best of both worlds: a car that has the utility of an auto that is really fun, and fast when I want it to be.

The seller is asking $64k has to relocate overseas mid Jan and listing his car during the holidays is not working out in his favor my suspicion is that I can get a better deal than that. So my question:

Given the condition, features, mileage, and that this car is a tiptronic...What would make this car a good buy..so that if a year or two from now I realize "hey, I shoulda financed the extra 10 grand and bought a manual" or can justify the payment for a PDK tt once they have depreciated a bit more?

The market for Tiptronic TTs is strong, with a lot of enthusiasts preferring them for robustness over the 6-speed. However, depending on how much more you have to leverage to get a PDK TT, it may be the better deal for resisting depreciation in the medium term.

Sorry for double posting mods. wasn't intentional. Thanks techweenie.

In my opinion, the seller's price is very fair. I don't see the 997tt depreciating any further 'cause that would bring us into the 996tt pricing ($45-55k). And everyone knows the 996tt is a great value. With the current uptrend in 996tt values the 997tt will soon follow.
