Neither ad raises my hackles.

Perhaps I'm a skeptical grump.

I read it as a dealer/flipper fishing for a car.

Hope I'm wrong.

I'm sticking with 'arrogant'. The owner is not ignorant IMO, except on how to spell Porsche.

I didn't know we had so many English Majors on Pelican!

Hi Nick,

The person quoted in the original post was probably *ignorant* of the forum rules requiring posting a price on a for sale ad - although it is possible that he was showing "an offensive attitude of superiority" by not posting a price despite knowing it was required - "rules don't apply to me". Honestly I did not find the post to be arrogant at all.

As to the second ad (the WTB) - if you're offended by that, I'm truly surprised, as most posters on this board have a pretty thick skin. Personally I thought it was fine.

An arrogant post to me would be one that says something like "you people are privileged to have the opportunity to buy/bid on this car"... there are certainly plenty of posts around like that but I didn't get that from either one mentioned in this thread. Sorry.

Cheers

d.

ps I double-majored in English and Philosophy :)

Look at his post history. Clearly a European dealer.
