I dunno. Hagerty puts a condition 4 at $120k, and they are frequently behind on their values. May not be for you but that car has all the mods that were done back when. It appears to still be numbers matching and could be driven as is or restored. Restored and it is worth twice the ask.

It's been for sale for a while. Seller claims that that is the original color (not likely) and matching engine (who knows). If the seller were a bit easier to deal with and better informed about what drives value with these cars, I suspect it would have sold already, but his focus on the "valuable" modifications makes it hard to figure out what he's really got.

I know this car very well. It needs help and is not matching numbers. It does have some cool bits but I think it has been sold at this point.

The guy that bought it already found the matching engine out of the country and bought it.

The crack smokers are obviously the buyers because these cars are selling for this kind of money.

The guy that had the car knew nothing about it except what he remembered he had been told about it back in 1974 it seems. He did have some receipts but I never saw them. Very few descriptions from the ad were accurate but the guy stated "that's what he was told and what he remembered. Sheesh.......

It had a "T" engine case built to 2.8 Specs. The pump had been modified so maybe that was true. Gauges were all later model, speedo was from a 914. Partial tool kit, did have the larger tank as advertised, wide Fuchs from the 70s that were cool, can't remember the date on them....later aftermarket Recaros which the owner felt added tremendous value to the car, plastic body work, two interior door handles on the drivers side, yes two. The first didn't work so there was a second. Some rust in the usual areas, mice had chewed up the manuals, and some wiring, interior was toast, over all very bad shape and in need of a complete rebuild including "reconversion" back to long hood. The guy refused to acknowledge the car had been converted to a short hood, even claiming he called the original mechanic from Ca. and that the car had never been modified. Sheesh.... Not much left from the original car except for the chassis. The guy thought it was still immaculate just like it was in 1974.... I guess, and refused to hear anything negative about the car. I tried to buy it several times and made very fair offers but the owner was told by a local "auctioneer" that it was worth $100K, and hey the owner is an on-line psycharist and as such thought he knew more than everyone else.

I know it sold for about half the asking price after being for sale for about 1.5 years. It was also advertised as the wrong color.

Wow. Clearly more to the story than 5 pictures and his write up told.

"Quality rear speakers installed along with remote ten-CD player installed [needs repair.]"

This is the selling point for me. I have the ability to fix the 10 CD changer to make it freakin' sweeeeeeeeet.
