Whats a 1966 912 in poor condition worth?

This is a loaded question because I have very little detail or information. I do not know the miles and I have not seen the car in person. I am trying to get the VIN and a few pictures. Once I do I will post them. Until I do this all the info I have.

A Friend just ran into a very rough 1966 912 needs a complete exterior restoration. I have not seen the interior yet and I've only seen a few pictures of the outside. Thoughts on value in current condition (assume the worst), and once restored what do you think its worth? Is it even worth restoring? Any help would be appreciated.

Definitely worth restoring. Value tough to judge without photos or details. If complete, non-running with typical rust best guestimate is $5k-$10k.

That's not a 1966 912. That's a 1976 912E assuming it's a 912. Not worth as much fully restored as a 66 912 would be. Parts should be easy to acquire except for thermal reactors and smog stuff. Probably only important if you live in California. They are nice cars but I would guess you could get a nice driver 912E and not put the work into this one and be ahead $$$$.
You never now until you get more info
