Best sites to browse "for sale" in addition to pelican
Hello all. New to the forum and new to Porche. Been driving primarily other horizontially opposed engined-cars (Subaru). I've spent last couple weeks educating myself somewhat on 1978-1989 911s, using this board, impactbumpers, rennlist, hemmings.com and hagerty.com, and have ordered a couple books, but so far I'm leaning towards an SC, mostly due to budget.
As I start to look for a 911SC, can you guys point me in the direction of sites I should be browsing on a regular basis? Want to make sure I'm not missing anything obvious. I've been checking here, hemmings, ebay, BaT to see price ranges, with a plan to buy likely in fall or winter. I'll be looking for a driver, daily driver even, so perfect paint, perfect interior isn't a priority. I live in TX. Thanks in advance for any input. |
I also look at PCA.org, although I haven't seen anything of interest there yet.

CL? I've found several nice cars....

CL is best if you stay on top of it and can move fast. The cars are local and you can see them in person.... but anything good disappears in hours.

Sometimes cars.com will have one.

Ebay, Craigslist, AutoKennel (consignment), PCA, Excellence, Pelican, Early S, Rennlist, hemmings all are good for enthusiast sales (best value IMO).... they also provide insight into what the re-sellers are offering.....

Awesome info. Appreciate it.

Be careful out there, lots of unscrupulous people. Willing to pay to get personal information.

Searchtempest.com is handy to extend your CL search beyond the immediate area.

I think you've got all of the sites covered. I've bought 5 air cooled 911s over the past 10 years and while I'm a daily searcher on just about every one of those sites, I ended finding all of my cars off of CL. If you're patient and can get past the scams, scumbags and other negatives, I have found it to be a great place to find these cars.
