Looks like someone gave him an appraisal and he thinks that's a market value number.

An 85k 89 coupe with needs is a $40's car retail these days.

Quite funny, I donít think those words mean what they thing they mean

I recently looked at a Ď74 coupe that was advertised as ďrestored to the highest of standardsĒ, which of course was not how it presented. Flowery language may work when thereís market momentum but when the frenzy settles details matter in determining desirability and value

276k, front end accident and repainted in a non-original color. But still worth every cent of an original car? I think not...

1975 911s

That car was listed here on Pelican for a much higher price for months before going to BAT.

EFI in the MFI is interesting though

If that was an 80í Porsche companion collection it would be worth every $0.01 of $7.5M. Just think of the cars it would include... at least two 959 (road and rally), 962C, 956, probably a 930 that would be a dream!!!

You can follow its build here on pelican under something like my RSR build or something. It is very well done and worth what heís asking. Thatís the market on top built ďRSRs.Ē The engine and trans built by Gamroth alone in that car are over $100k. Aluminum hood, all aluminum ducktail, metal bumpers. It is what it is. Cheaper than a Singer, cheaper than if you have Workshop 5001 build you a car, cheaper than if you have me build you a car, cheaper than a handful of others if they build you a car.

To your question I would love if I could continue doing what Iím currently doing. I have two builds going and thatís all that I can handle with everything else thatís going on in my shop. We will see what comes next. Itís nice for one of the first times in my 21 years of having a shop that I can actually charge time and materials flat out on Porsche dream builds. Most people have no idea that the hours get into the thousands. The parts and sublet mechanical on my both of my builds is well over $200k each

All that and they couldn't source an aluminum crankcase.

You should know better than to add up the cost of a passion project. Parts are one thing but hours can kill you. Glad I don't charge myself much. LOL

Unless you are a not for profit business then you have to keep track and add it up. Hobbies and passions are one thing. Running a business is another

I thoroughly understand just a joke regarding people with passion builds and question the hours which more times than realized don't reflect the actual hours put into the work. Custom fabrication is a lengthy process and can cost big quickly.

I appreciate that you build cars and have a vested interest in buoying ďmarket valueĒ, but come on man. Are you seriously saying a steel body and aluminum hood translates to half a million dollars? Drive train is impressive, but easily replicated with a checkbook (and Iíd love to see the math on your $100k). I see at least $55-60k in the engine and 915 maxed at around $17k. My generally fresh g50 race tranny (done by AASE with 3 GT gears and LSD) with every single wear item replaced came in around $15k for the rebuild.

I could be wrong based on the limited pics, but that interior is laughable compared to even $150k longhood builds.
