always like to have a thread veer off course (hi-jack), but never thought it's happen to trader's PTMML thread. glad he played along, and back to your regularly scheduled programing..
Saw the Dead a few times in my day so always happy to talk about them....

I have my detractors. There is a dealer or two out there who is still pissed at me for exposing some of the outright fraud they commit.

The movie Wall St. came out when I was a young trader. Of course we all picked it apart, especially the scenes of the trading floor, but we all loved it.

Blue Horseshoe loves the Grateful Dead.

I was on the floor the day Gerry died. The news came across the old scrolling news boards on the walls.

Totally. We were too far north for KSJO though. Add KFRC and KSOL to the list. Even back then I was diverse and really enjoyed funk and soul too. Itís Friday. We off the clock. All aboard that party train. The 80s were awesome.

also was a fan of the foothill college station KFJC. spent many a night trying to hit "record" at the perfect time during the spliff skankin show. listening to that show really inspired my love of old school reggae. the recordings of those old Jamaican bands was of very poor quality, but that made it that much cooler. ive got a great collection of really old reggae cassette tapes that ive long wished I could somehow get burned to CD. yes I still have a CD player that I use out in the garage.

that's the one cool! great pull. I for the life of me could not recall his handle. he was a piece of work in a can't look away sort of way. he's surely been suspended from radio today with his show. now it'll take me another 40 years to forget his name.

EDIT: cool inspired me to look into erctus so here ya go >>> https://patch.com/california/cupertino/dj-dennis-erectus-netto-dies

Yes, KFJC. I listened to that show too and still have a few of those tapes. It was only last year that the old garage all in one cassette and CD “tower” bit the dust. I no longer have a tape player.

I still listen to CDs every day. I play them in the computer at work and moved the high end Denon one with Boston Acoustics reference bookshelf speakers to the garage when the take player died. I was very happy when I got the 996 and found a 6 disc changer in the frunk. And imagine my surprise when it was preloaded with Journey, Cheap Trick, Boston, and Santana discs. Score!

No engine or transmission, rusted out floor pan, 14 in. Fuchs for 15K but hey it has a COA. Is it even salvageable?

2002 Porsche 996 *Great Condition*Tasteful Mods*

996 with 116k.
I’m not convinced the mods add value.

I think he's dreaming at that price. Someone's ex track car? Some of the parts are nice but un needed for a street car, if it comes with the stock parts and you can sell off some of the after market stuff that's a bonus but still a steep price.

The 996 market is rolling over again because so many are now crossing over into the 100k plus miles range. They were cheap cars for the last bunch of years and so many were not really maintained as they should have been. This one looks really nice, I just think that price is a big stretch.

I'm no fan of the 996 but I think that car is really nice with the aero kit and aftermarket wheels, etc. and not "crazy" overpriced for what you get. I bet he would take ~$20k or so, and have yourself a nice cruiser for a Honda Civic price.

He’s asking what it would be worth at half the mileage. It’s a $15-18k car with $15k in mods. I agree he will get around $20k for it.

New to this forum - first timer!

I bought this #2 car (off the production line - VIN 9115400012) just the other day, Porsche Pre-Owned dealership had no clue what they had on their hands. 37 years of service documentation came with it along with all the original service manuals. Fortunate this is my first Porsche!

The #3 car sold through MECUM for 125k+ Search VIN 9115400013

Check her out! Give my Vin a google search!

That #3 car appeared to be in much better condition, and it also sold during the inflated bubble years. It's not as if the seller of your car didn't know what they had. They tried selling it on BaT and it failed to sell, everyone bidding on it knew it was the #2 car, and still didn't get bid above $33,250. So it's not as if the seller didn't know it, it just didn't add much if any value to it apparently, so there was no reason to mention it.
