Jumped to $100k almost immediately

Even simpler than that. 1976-79 $100,000 to $400,000 1980-85 $ 75,000 to $125,000 1986-89 $ 75,000 to $250,000 These values are for nice cars no issues. Second that these cars perform better at a auction house than eBay ect. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

* Restored example to very high standards and all original. Might not bring all the money but I assume it might bring a large quantity. Also to note, we are in the early stages of these cars still and I don't mean in terms of price but that will ultimately equate. I mean in terms of people turning over rocks looking for these rare, neglected cars. Fewer than 1 to 2 handful were probably garage queens. That means finding good, held together drivers will be restored back to original again with a very high standard. Not just a cheap paint squirt. It's already apparent guys are chasing parts as things like sport seats, tails, etc sell as fast as lightening. |
I totally agree. Hey, psst ... You gotta good 79 930 tail ?
|
No late tails. Just early tails including non a/c and a/c versions.
I posted this on BAT's comment page. Curious once again what others think about miles. Am I the only one not concerned about higher miles? Sure, I wouldn't mind a 25k garage queen but that car will need a engine rebuild just to get out all the carbon build up. Also full reseals as they will be dried out and the car will smoke and leak a ton of oil so what's the difference from a low mile car vs a high miles car assuming both bodies, paint, etc were identical. Sure, who wouldn't want the low miles for bragging but is there really that much of a price difference? Below might better explain more of my though. "Two people have commented about the miles on the car. I disagree that miles determine prices to the extend the other two posters believe in its effect. Fewer than a handful of cars are going to have ultra low miles. For starters, their just aren't that many 1976 930's. On top of that fact? Many were tracked, bastardized, etc. The ones that were drivers are going to have miles. If the engines are rebuilt and tidied, what does it matter. These aren't GT3RS cars where a new breed of collectors puts 500 miles on them a year and basically leaves them in the garage. I actually don't think these 1976 930's are far from another legend, the 1973 911RS. Many to most of those cars were driven with spirit and many again have been rebuilt. They might have all the papers, documents, etc in order. Be all correct with parts. Have meticulously been restored or rebuilt, but they are respected with whatever miles are on the clock. Same goes for 911s cars. Miles just aren't a factor with those cars and the 930 is far from modern. It's actually just a few years ahead of longhoods. My checklist has so many other factors and miles are an afterthought if the cars cared for and in good shape." |
I'm right there with you on the mileage thing. I always say it's maintenance, not mileage. Low mileage cars are for the dudes with more dollars than sense - not based on the reality of what a low-mileage car usually reflects - a garage queen with no maintenance, or sometimes an outright lie!
|
You guys are right again ! I have a low mileage 930 that has a slant nose, boxed rockers, aftermarket Fuchs & seats - yuk. The miles is certainly not my problem. !!!
|
If the engine isn't correct to the car, why do miles matter, and why would you pay 100k for it? It's a driver and nothing more.
|
So engine replacements under warranty are bad news then eh? Good to know.
|
If the phrase, "likely under warranty" is good enough for you, well, step up and buy it. It is not, nor will it ever be, a numbers matching car. If it was a Ferrari 275, a replaced motor will hurt it, and if it's an early 930 Turbo, a replaced motor will hurt it...... I'm sorry that's news to you....eh.

Stopped paying attention to BAT auctions after cars "sold" there turned up for sale again in days by the same sellers.

Now obviously, the cars that have spent their unfortunate existences stationary, under the abusive confines of car covers, are easy to spot - not referring to those. I don't like low mileage, or mileage enhanced, women either - the more experienced the better, buttofcourse! |

Reserve not met...bat says they'll put the high bidder and owner together...
