Well, it WAS a potentially affordable longhood this morning, but Irrational Exuberance struck -- from someone who didn't notice the hole in the floor and the missing wiring harness... and who didn't count up the cost of all the missing parts...

So many questions, but here's one: Who would put these heat exhangers on a "1971 911E engine?"

[QUOTE=Mocker;10643041]So many questions, but here's one: Who would put these heat exhangers on a "1971 911E engine?"

Who? The seller of course! They went to their bone yard and selected the nicest (WORST/valueless) set of HEs and hung them on the engine with one nut on each (rest of the studs all broke off when they harvested the original HEs) to give it that "complete" appearance. The right exchanger isn't even connected to the left.

I'm sure the rags in the intake ports were placed there after the first round of pictures when they realized it didn't look well cared for. You, know, you don't want it to look like it sat outside in the elements for the last ten years with ports full of leaves and water.

Last week an auto parts store sold two cans of asphalt gravel guard.

Signed,
Negative Nancy

Dear Negative Nancy,

Your points are noted. But we don't care.
