Question 993 C2 1995 Value question

Very nice condition with about 145.000 km. (90.000 miles?) Canadian version always in British Columbia and never winter-driven.
Everything works. The ’95 has an effective alarm system but doesn’t have ignition immobilizer like the later 993’s, which I like.
Special Factory Custom Color: sea-foam green metallic with black interior.
Heated Leather sport seats, sun roof, A/C, ABS, 6-speed manual, LSD, 5-spoke 17" wheels, lowered to European height.
Bought from Weissach in Vancouver Sept. 2010.
Work done: Rotors and pads about 2 years ago, new brake fluid, lower right valve cover seal replaced, shock tower strut bar added. 12V digital charging indicator under dash added. New battery.
Nothing major on Carfax/CarProof.
Minor scratch on front bumper about 1 mm deep and 2 inches wide from a trailer hitch was professionally repainted and a broken headlight fixed with insurance claim.
I removed front bumper and had it repainted, nice job. Left headlight is new. Original leather-bound Driver's manual and Warranty booklet and full front bra included.
Didn't drive it last year.......other interests.

Approximate market value, please.

Ouch, that is something I like. 55k+ if you have the booklets! I would take it but I am short of 55k plus these days.

PS. is the handsome gentleman part if the deal?

$55k is a bit soft for such a unique color and only Euro trash care about the booklets. Its not a low mileage car. Service records matter more than dealer stamps in a little book 20 years old.

As a Mech. Engineer with more than 7000 posts, I know a lot more about Engines, Suspensions, Brakes etc. than the average Porsche owner and I'm always amazed about the morons who turn up when treads are posted.

Try refurbishing some 911's, try rebuilding a few engines, try setting up a racing suspension before you go blah, blah, blah.... Nitwit.

Not so great to insult people on this forum. It's well known that stupid people tend to think they know a lot more that they do, Mr 7000.

Very true, 368? The subject was: "993 C2 1995 Value Question" and some replies here and on Rennlist were actually helpful and appreciated but then there are also 'intellectual giants' who feel they need to chime in with nonsense.

Keep learning, knowledge is power.

NO DOUBT, MORE 'INTELLECTUALS WILL COME FORWARD. GFY

Classy!

A free piece of advice from Mr. Nitwit. Feel free to use it if you want.

Clear out your trunk and wash it before taking more pictures and posting them here. disgusting pic. And what is that hand gesture. Is that a secret sign to get hitchhikers to take a ride with you?

P.S. Michael Moore called. He wants his cap and sunglasses back

Given your location I would call Jeff Alton at Turn3 and James at Scan if you are serious about selling. I wouldn't be surprised if they knew someone looking for a 993. $60-65k cdn seems about right and don't even try to market it in the States at first.

Thank you for constructive input from some of you, very much appreciated.

For the usual inevitable idiots, take your medication or find another post for your OCD and go blah, blah, blah......

I just bought a 1995 C4 with similar mileage from Calgary and brought it back to Vancouver in March. I am confident that you can get at least $70,000 locally if it checks out.

Nice car in a quite lovely color. However, my price analysis is not as favorable as some of the other ones above.

90,000 mileage will bring the price down quite a bit. I know it's not crazy high numbers, but for 993 it is a bit too high. Remember that lots of people are purchasing these cars as collector vehicles with the potential of resale. And 90k mile car will mainly likely attract your regular Porsche guy who is looking for a driver and won't pay crazy money.

The Carfax issue is big, and no matter how well this minor damage is documented, it will always be a turn off. Your regular Porsche enthusiast won't mind much, but the doctor & lawyer types that want an air-cooled, and are willing to pay a lot, will walk away.

And finally, the car is Canadian. That's "north of the north," and no matter how much assurance you give that you have not driven this vehicle in snow and/or on salty roads, it will still bring doubts. Especially when the car has travelled 90,000 miles.

I am not trying to be negative but rather give you some of the key facts to consider when pricing this car. I sale air-cools for living and I guess have a good grasp on what people like and what turns them off. However, every car deal stands on its own and you might have someone offer you the $70,000.. But in my humble opinion, in the current softening market, this car is about $47k - $52k (considering that the Carfax does say that there was an accident, or minor damage)

Perhaps your best bet would be to sell this car on Bring A Trailor. Their selling platform gives you chance to interact with potential buyers and you will have plenty of time to truly describe this car and clear up any negatives there might be.

I should have clarified this in my post. My estimate of $70,000 is in CDN dollars or $54,000 USD. There is a lot of wealth and car enthusiasts in Vancouver with no supply for coupes except for a few convertibles which are asking more or less of my estimate.
