The extra 20 has to be an angle to keep the cops off of his back somehow or possibly help him in court. Maybe offer to have someone pick up the parts for you if you can find someone willing and knowledgeable on what they are looking at. That way if he does have the parts you can still get the parts.

I'm going to call the FBI like you suggested earlier, this is insane. And I totally forgot about something Peter said to me a while back. The bumper I bought was off a white '67 912 advertised on the Samba, he had the whole car and offered it to me for $3300 but said there were title issues but he could resolve them by registering it in a few different states. I didn't want the car because I think title issues mean problems that I don't want to deal with and just said I just wanted my parts for now. So I remembered this conversation this morning and thought has he done questionable title stuff before? Doesn't sound good. He's shown me pictures of entire tractor trailers full of parts and cars, two shops full of the same. I wonder what the FBI will find when they raid his shop?

I know, I should've recognized the red flag of title funny business.

He just sent me an email that said he'd returned my money via PayPal and firstly, it wasn't the whole amount, secondly he thinks it's going to get him out of this mess, it isn't. I'm going full bore. I will not stop Peter Johantgen. I hope you're reading this.

Someone here already did offer, I sent Peter an email about it and he would not respond to it.

The police called me about three days ago and said they were going to charge the guy with a felony. Apparently, these things take time but it's happening. The detective was very empathetic, as he was a vintage car guy and had been burned a few times also.

I've been following this thread. What a story! Hope the scammer gets nailed. Then at least you will get satisfaction that you have done the right thing.

Let the police refer the case and hopefully the District Attorney will file felony charges against this POS. I seriously doubt you will ever see a penny, but at least he will (hopefully) be held accountable at some level.

Excellent, please inconvenience the scammer as much as you can. This is not about money.

If you want to do business with a known scumbag that's your choice. Caveat emptor.

Lol, it'll take him four months to call you and say he's finally on the way, then he'll say you have to give him $20 For gas. Then excuses, ad naseum.

Better yet, if he buys the car please take off the driver front fender and bumper, then send them to me.

it may be in your notification email, that's where I read it. With porschehunter's permission, I can send it in a PM, or he can just send you a PM with the same.

Yes, I got all my money back. I donít know if he was charged or arrested. My local Sheriff told me he intended to prosecute but it would take awhile. I havenít called and asked. I do know heís had the parts for sale on eBay with zero takers since all this happened.

A friend of mine who knows his business partner asked me to exonerate the business partner. I was willing to do this until the business partner said this was all my fault because of how I wanted it shipped. I donít recall ever being too particular on shipping. I donít see how me patiently waiting more than six months for a paid for part is me being the bad guy. The business partner didnít have anything to do with it but it seemed childish to blame me.

As karma would have it, I ended up buying the most stunningly perfect bumper from a Ď65 911. Not a speck of rust. Laser straight. The seller was a old pro metal guy in Michigan. He refused to take any money until it arrived by ups to my home. Even painted Slate grey to match my car. Itís the most perfect Porsche part Iíve ever seen. $200. Happy ending!

Apologies for not being clear. Seller has a business partner involved in the sales of cars and parts who really didnít have anything to do with this. A friend of mine knows the business partner and asked if Iíd publicly say the partner had nothing to do with this mess. I was willing to do it but then the business partner ran his mouth and blamed me. Make sense? Kinda complicated to explain.
