In Illinois our illustrious government allows the use of "plates of the era" on vintage cars like mine. So I run a 1967 tag on my 912 that I randomly bought - and carry my actual registered plates in the trunk. I would imagine I could just leave the black plates on this car just as I did with a 1956 Speedster that I ran the original Cali tag on when I drove it. Illinois is not alone either. Several States seem to allow this.

Nice car. I'd drive that in the slow lane with pride!
The interior is very close to what I want to do in my car. I think the tan tartan with the red stripe would look good with the Guards Red.

Nah. I had my 68 912 up over 110 MPH, downhill, on Route 84 just outside of Danbury, CT, 40 some odd years ago.

It slowed to 80 going up the hill on the other side.:)
That car was wasted on a foolish owner.

Shame on your parents letting a 5 year old speed in a 912!

Hah!
Believe it or not, I bought that car myself for $3,000 from a friend of my fathers. It was 3 years old and had 30K miles on it. Pristine example. Still remember his name. Stu Snowden.

It was my first car.
Hook, line and sinker as they say.

Nice looking guy in pic 105 - his hair is very glossy!!

The car seems somewhat "polished" though.
