Just brought home a 1979 911 SC 80K miles Bronze metallic

Starts, runs good, looks like a partial repaint A few dings here and there.
Needs some interior love and a general checkup, brakes, plugs, wires, etc.

Just got new Yokohama tires and oil change.

Do you think I did ok for $15K?

Its the internet, everyone pays below market prices and sells above market prices. Oh and they all want to tell you about it.

I bought a couple thousand shares of AMZN at 50 bucks a while ago, do you think that was a good buy?

Looks like a good deal. And itís a coupe. Any running/registered 911SC is a $20k car. Parts/project cars at $5k-15k. Decent ones are $25-30k. Good ones are $30k+.

A few things to consider:
Are the head studs good?
All records present to document/prove the miles? If not, TMU. Canít trust the odometer on any 911.
Brown is a great color on these cars.
Any rust?
Tool kit? Ok, just joking on that one. Can be a hot issue for some.

Thanks for the heads up on issues to look for!

Looks like it has a mostly complete tool kit, I'll try to send a pic of it.

Sold on Bat today for 28k. Nobody even bid in the last hour. Thought it was a great buy.
First auction I have watched on there that did not get a couple bids at the end.

I thought it sold a little cheap but that car definitely had some issues... including signs of a water leak and rust. Definitely had some tough winters in Chi-town. Looks like a dealer picked it up so I expect it to be cleaned up and put back on the market soon.

I agree and so does the dealer who bought it for resale.

I wonder what the seller paid for this car.
It probably was sitting for years, and needed all that work to get it roadworthy again.

Something about that car does not sit well with me.
I'd rather pay more for a less of a wild card.
In ways, this could be a poor value.

Cracked rear bumper pad (dry rot?)
Rust peeking out from the left rear bumper pad
Warping on front smile rubber strip
Door pockets are warped
Rusty VIN plate? Door sill
Rear seat?
Back of driver's seat?
Door sill rust.

What is that weird scuffing on the dash next to the steering wheel??
