Monterey P car results

I have seen a few blurbs on results. Has anyone compiled all the results from Monterey?

Mecum results sucked compared to the rest. Only 35% sold

the cars Mecum had just were not up to par. Wrong crowd, wrong place.

I restored it. Took over 3 years. A bargain compared to the other garbage cars that sold.

Was a curiousity question. Car looked nice on TV and was wondering if the price was off because bidders took issue with something about the restoration that I couldn't see from my couch.

Just part of a statistic for the poor sales figures for Mecum. Who would have thought that the biggest auction in Monterey with 2 La Ferraris, 2 Veyrons, 959, Daytona Race car, rebodied Enzo, and a ton of other cars would not have brought the numbers.

Their list of unsold cars looks huge, but have to confess to knowing very little about the whole auction scene.

I was at Mecum Monterrey and bid on a few 911s. Many of the cars looked great from 10 ft, but up close, they were pretty rough.

Lot W42 barely ran... and the car was pretty rough from what I remember. I'm guessing whoever bid on the car had not looked the car over or heard it under its own power.

Lot T35 was a pretty clean car, with the exception the passenger mirror/door was punched in like someone drove the mirror into a wall. It was an import and had a 2x3" area of rust at the bottom of the door opening under the rubber trim near the back of the door. I didnt see any other evidence but was worried there was more hiding in other areas. It was an east coast car if I remember correctly and that scared me off. Otherwise it was pretty clean.

Lot T54, a black Carerra with the duck tail looked great even at 5-10 ft. Close up, it was pretty rough.

Lot T59 with the ugly wheels and whale tale was a good clean honest car with mods done in poor taste. I bid to $28k, but dropped out. It sold at $28.5k

Lot F10 A 2007 Turbo, looked good from a few feet away, but it had several scratches in the paint and the lug bolts were rusty. It didnt look well cared for.

Overall, it seemed that the cars I saw run sold for reasonable money for the condition.

David
