I've got an 87 targa, lots of people hate targa,s', it's cassis red, lots of people hate cassis red, it's got linen sport seats, lots of people hate linen. It starts every time I turn the key' it doesn't use oil, it pulls strong to redline and corners faster than I can. I paid $14,000.00 for it 16 years ago and I love it dearly. If you like the car your looking at, buy it.

Sold to Matt Farah at The Smoking Tire. They are out there (even on Pelican). I've seen this car multiple times and it's super clean, original paint, etc... Great buy at $38,500. Took over a week to sell.

I suspected as much given how you described it, but it never hurts to ask.

Ice pack

Thanks for comments, but I am realizing that $40,000 does not buy many G50 coupes, if any.
I listen to comments and been looking for a G50 Coupe for awhile really do not care the year 87-89
But color plays a factor, with mileage and condition, I will be going forward.

Thanks All

Does it have to be a G50? Have you driven a well sorted 915?

Here is my advice. Get a PPI. Don't buy on emotion. This is a business transaction. How long did it take for you to save $40,000. $40,000 is a good price for an 89 911 G50, but you could be looking at a top end rebuild and lot's of other little things that could go wrong with the car and drive you nutz.

PPI is the Porsche community's version of Caviat Emptor!

A good PPI takes two to three hours to complete. It involves removing the valve covers and checking all the head studs, etc. That means an oil change too. So, you are looking at $500 bucks to ensure your $40,000 investment. I would also get an oil analysis. Oil analysis will tell you if bearings are going bad, etc.

Get a PPI. Remember you are buying a 29 year old car that was driven by and maintained by whom?
