Please stay away from "Stoddard"... Pete Yanda didn't even respond to my lost package

Simply purchased an item from Stoddard a few weeks ago, I put in the address wrong when I setup my account with them. I emailed them instantly and asked they to correct it, they stated they did so and a few days later I got my package. "Aces".

Then I made another order, now a larger order. I signed in and paid for the items and ended up never receiving them. I checked the tracking number, they sent it to the previously wrong address I put in. So I reached out to Pete Yanda. He simply responded to my issue with "Looks like this was shipped to your body shop as requested on the order." 1) I emailed back and explained to him the situation, he didn't care to respond. 2) Spoke to UPS, they took credit for the mistake, stated to speak to seller in 3-4 days and it should all be sorted. So I reach out to Pete again, No response. 3). I speak to UPS again, they state Stoddard has to change the address, I reach out to Stoddard again. No response. 4) I email Stoddard again and again. No response and no response. After spending a few days trying to find the package with no help from Stoddard, its found but I can't pick it up because my name isn't on it, "it was going to a shop" my shop thats working on the car won't leave work to go get it and Stoddard won't respond to correspondence. Long story short, I am calling my Credit card company and being done with this and Stoddard and Pete Yanda. I am sure some of you have had awesome experiences with Stoddard, I did previously as well. But it seems once the package leaves Stoddard, they consider themselves finished the transaction. Thats poor customer service if you ask me. But what do I know, I bought a old 911. |

Sir, they don't offer the part I needed. It was a Torsion tube frame cut out for my 69T. Only places I found it were Stoddard or Seirra Madre. But I don't disagree, Pelican Parts powered forum, I order from PP quite often. Feed the beast.

@rollingartworks.... I gotta be honest. This kinda sounds like you own some of the screw up... You have a wrong address on file, and for some reason you ordered parts but your name wasn't on the package???? I don't even understand that.

So Stoddard didn't put your name on it? They put the name of a shop, but not the shop that was working on your car? Help me to understand the situation a little bit better.

I don't understand why the PPMPF constantly gets these "ive been done wrong by X vendor" posts. if the "victim" really wants to be noticed the tech forum has significantly more traffic and looked in on by vendors from time to time. this forum is like 40-50 regulars and I don't suspect many parts vendors look in here.

in this case particularly with the previous address snafu I would have probably discussed the shipping address in subsequent orders. ive also had things dropped shipped directly to the shop I use with my name as the recipient for a multitude of reason. plenty of blame to go around in this sticky lil wicket. my 2 cents.

I've never ordered from Stoddard but I have never seen an online parts ordering system that didn't have a screen where they ask you to verify all information on the order prior to submitting. And in light of that, and what you mentioned, a credit card chargeback case would likely be lost by the buyer.

Well I just received a refund from them but never a response to any of my emails, but obviously they received them or just read this thread.

Yes I called and asked to speak to Pete, but he was on the phone, that at least confirmed he was still at work and not on vacation. Gave him the benefit of the doubt. The responded to all my emails rather quickly prior to this issue, is it a coincidence they stopped responding when I had an issue? I gave them the wrong address with the first package. I quickly emailed them and they corrected my shipping and the first package arrived with no issues. I didn't have to put in an address with the second package because I signed in and it automatically loaded the bodyshops address. Yes, my name was not on the package, since it was going directly to the bodyshop. Lastly, thats fine I will take credit for the mistake, but CUSOTMER SERVICE is customer service. At the end of the day I didn't get package. The address wasn't WRONG, it was missing a Suite #.... I scoured the other 7 suites on the premise and the package wasn't there, turns out UPS dropped it off at a location 30 miles away, UPS took credit for the mistake. But the fact remains Pete and Stoddard did not thing to help. They said they shipped and thats all they are good for, I am sorry, but thats poor customer service. If I sell one of you fellow forum members and item, is my job done once the package leaves me? If its damaged during shipment who does UPS/Fedex/USPS want to make the claim? THE SHIPPER. At the end of the day, I got a refund and this was my experience with Stoddard, it wasn't a happy one, I shared it with the community. I took credit for where I was mistaken. Stoddard hasn't even given me the respect to respond to a single email. Take that as you will. Cheers fellas. |

Weird timing on this thread. I have never ordered from Stoddard until Friday.

I ordered the Rebbel Racing rear bushing set in Gold. I did not get an e-mail confirming the order, so I CALLED THEM!, yesterday at around 3:30pm on my way home. The Gold Anodize was out of stock and it would be another run before they had more. They have Gunmetal in stock. I told the guy I didn't care that much about the color. He said he would ship it out before he left. He did and he overnighted it. So the part was here at 9:00am. That's customer service! The moral of the story is pick up the phone and talk to someone.

I bought from Stoddard, never had a problem.

Things happen with most vendors today, and most take care of the problem or out of business. I buy most from our host because I have mostly 911 cars. Stoddard is great for 356 parts. I have seen them in LA and Hershey and been to there open house and swap meets. Owner, I have met and old Mr Stoddard, nice people. |
