It's been spotted making the rounds around the 'Ring and they say, "yes, the fake exhaust tips are still there." You definitely won't hear it coming, unless it's the sound of its tires squealing. The Taycan is expected to be launched early 2019, maybe at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2019, and will begin customer deliveries later the same year.

Porsche USA CEO Klaus Zellmer told CNET at the LA Auto Show, "If all the people [who preordered] buy this car, then we are sold out for the first year." Sources are unsure if this meant to refer to only the U.S. market. It's said that they were initially only planning to produce 20k units a year, but this could increase to 30k between the sedan and the Taycan Sport Turismo. Read more about it here.

Thoughts:
- should have kept the suicide doors
- Iím interested in the inductive charging system (if even real)
- I read they already have more deposits on them than they planned to make

So, Porsche released images of the Taycan today and sources are saying they believe the actually production car will look much different than the concept. Some are saying it'll look more like a Panamera-ish. Thoughts on the images that Porsche teased below?

Sadly it looks just like the Panamera, and no suicide doors is a fail for me

It's very hard to meet the DOT side-impact requirements with suicide doors. Very hard.
I bet they tried.

I HATED it when Porsche started using names for cars and not numbers. I still have to stop and think about which is which for the Cayenne and Cayman. The vehicles are very different, but bot have stupid names. Taycan is just really stupid for a car name.

I have no doubt they spent millions in the development of the name alone. They got ripped off, and need a new committee for the names of the cars.

Harrumph harrumph harrumph harrumph grumble grumble. Get off my lawn.

SPIED! With barely any camo, up close and personal! What do you think about the fake exhaust tips?

I'm not sure why they need to really unveil this in September as it's already all over the internet and they're flashing it completely without hesitation as they do an international promotional tour. It made it's debut in China.

Quote:
The chassis of the new Taycan covers a wide range and successfully combines the precise handling of a sports car and the long-distance comfort of a saloon. The Taycan steers into corners very directly and has plenty of grip.
It's next stop is at Goodwood Festival of Speed to be driven by Mark Webber and then next it's heading to the final Forumla E Race of the year in New York. Sources say that Porsche stated at the end of their tests of the Taycan they will have done approximately 3.7 million test miles.

Porsche has secured 30,000 deposits for the Taycan more than a month before the German automaker will unveil the all-electric sports cars, numbers that suggest there’s enough demand to support the company’s plans to produce 40,000 units in its first year.
