R 1200 S For Sale - Toronto

Selling my 2007 Candy Cane R1200S with 23,300 miles - As much as it pains me, I just don’t have time to ride it. The bike is in excellent condition, both mechanically and aesthetically. All maintenance has been performed to schedule and recalls completed by BMW. This bike has been treated meticulously and with great care – ridden by a mature rider, always kept in a heated garage, and literally cleaned after every ride. It has the Sport Package (optional 6” rear wheel, ohlins suspension), ABS, heated grips and other features including:

- Akropovic exhaust
- Helibar bar risers
- Ilmberger Carbon fiber rear fender
- Carbon fiber front fender (original included)
- Carbon fiber valve covers
- Ztechnic carbon tank pad
- Passenger seat
- Seat cowl
- Saddle bags
- Kaoko throttle lock
- LED tail lights and custom license plate mount (original included)
- Clear front signal lights
- Phone x-mount with usb outlet
- Dark tint puig windscreen
- 3M clear guard on fairings
- Comes with both red and black seat
- Extra stock clear windscreen
- R1200s tank bag
- Brand new battery
- Dunlop sportmaxx Q3 tires with plenty of life left

I’m located in Toronto and asking $8900 CAD ($7230 US). I have more pics available if you’re interested and plan on trying to take a few better ones this weekend. I really enjoyed this pelican forum with this bike and learned a lot, so I figured I’d post up the sale here before I post it locally. If you have any questions etc. regarding the bike feel free to ask,

Mark

Wow, lovely bike! All the right goodies too....
Too bad I'm still in love with my R1100S

I would think getting it registered in the US wouldn't be such a big deal as Ontario Canada has the same smog rules as California.

Slick...

Others may have a different experience but in my opinion it's a PINA (depending on your state). I looked into this using a company to handle import. Cost was $450 and if your state needs a DOT bond release, they charged an extra $325. At the time this was a deal breaker. I wish this was easier to do between CAN and the US as this looks like a great bike and I'd certainly consider it.

I'll do a bit of research on what's involved getting the bike registered etc stateside - the bike originally came from Michigan and I know bringing a bike into Canada is not a huge issue as people do it quite frequently. I'll try to find out what's involved in the process and cost,

Getting a US title for it would be a HUGE pain and EXPENSIVE, if it could be done at all.
