Well back in my FF days we always ran ATF instead of 90wt. With only 100hp or so every bit counted. Races were rarely over 30 minutes and the hewlands came apart all the time for ratio changes

don't cut the buffers. I have them on my car and don't recall it being a problem. Maybe dropping the car onto its wheels while feeding the rod through.

The Insulation is nothing more than a thin flat sheet of asbestos type material glued to the back of the panel. You should be able to source some nd cut to size, otherwise you will be repainting soon.
