favorite methods for cleaning head gasket surfaces?

hey guys whats the preferred method for cleaning the gasket surfaces on the cylinder head and block prior to installing the head gasket ?...I am thinking of just putting on a new head-gasket then...

Just starting disassembly preparing to swap Cylinder heads and I noticed that my donor head ends in 303.7R
the head I am replacing is a 944.104.303.8R
my wishful thinking is that that means 1987 vs...

I suspect you need to adjust the crank sensors or...

I suspect you need to adjust the crank sensors or sensors are loose... when it gets hot then stalls as they expand from the heat the sensor gets too far away from the crank to start... once they cool...

Hey Clark's describes the stud removal method where a second nut is used to back the stud out of the head...is it possible to get the manifold off then remove the studs once the head is...

I highly reccommend the remove the intake...

I highly reccommend the remove the intake manifold method...not that big a job and leaves the sensors wide open for easy access then it is a "peice of cake" to replace and adjust the sensors
hope...
