I would think it more easily done as the last piece to be installed. You jam the cam into the seal, you’ll likely be replacing it after startup.
Make sure the spring is inside the seal,

The tach wire on the 3.0 harness is in the 14 prong connector.
Open the 14 block and remove the purple/black and jump it to the chassis purple/black.
