John...am I correct in guessing that as you see no visible wear on the CV joints, that you will re-install them on their original sides - or will you switch them to opposite sides? Just wondering!

1987 NA 944 - will be cleaning and re-packing cv joints soon. Is it still common wisdom to switch cv axles left to right...to utilize "fresh" surfaces?

Yes...the photos are impressive - but with all of the high powered, remotely triggered flash units in evidence, I'd worry about the effect of these on drivers concentration/perception.

Gauge Cluster Rehab Info?

I've removed the gauge cluster from my '87NA - and plan to clean and replace the worn reflective material with silver tape (just as I had on my 85.5), and will also repair and/or replace the OD gear....
