I would bail on the original style starter...

I would bail on the original style starter (unless you must have new and OE) and get a new hi-torque starter that our host sells. Smaller/less weight. They work great.

I guess it could help but I bet its a subtle change. Stronger spring rate reduces the travel so the shock has less to work with. If I was all street I'd go back to stock.
