Yeah, TDC on #1

I can see #1's piston is at TDC thru spark plug hole, after watching intake valve close, and before exhaust opens.

So, I should just take pin out of the distributor drive, rotate the shaft 180...

Couple Puzzlers RE: OIL

Not sure how or if these issues are related and/or connected:

-after 1.7 engine freshen up (top end, 1,911 bigger bore) with oil & filter change, (4qts.)
still reads approx. an inch or so...

Let that be a lesson to me...

Swapped in another v.r. and everything's back as it should be voltage wise.

Close inspection revealed near new Optima with a small bit of brown ooze
exiting the vent things on top of the battery....

Would a bad voltage regulator---

permit TOO much voltage? Was thinking my voltage gauge was wonky when it started
reading almost 16v on start up. (Settles down to 14v+ after a minute or 2).

Checked voltage at battery not...
