I happen to have mine out of the car. It was rebuilt a few years back with new bushings and the gap is significantly less than yours. Probably not an issue though.

Mine would die with the engine cool and the AC on. Leaned out my fuel mixture a fraction and everything normal again. Like Ivan said.
