I replaced my old non OEM switches (junk) with new OEM switches (slightly less junk) and it fixed my problems. Try an OEM switch and follow the advice above.

Also verify the wiring is correct....

I just replaced mine after noticing some hairline cracks that were weeping oil. Its a pretty robust hose. If its not showing signs of wear I'd probably leave it alone.
