+1, Just recently replaced torn boot and repacked.
Remember to re-torque after couple hundred miles or if you hear cv noise. My D-side needed a re-torque.

+1 bent cross member, support engine and remove and take a closer look at them. It can be bent back if not torn.
As far as the washer, it is matter of choice, IMHO.

You should be installing these with load removed...
You should be installing these with load removed from the sway bars.
I suggest placing the front wheels on car ramps or blocks safely. It will make aligning allot easier.
