Premium. These cars have high compression (10.9:1). However, you can use a lower octane gas and the knock sensor should compensate by retarding the timing with some power loss.

As stated, there are many differences between the 8v and 16v heads and their systems. Either head may bolt to the block, but if I recall the 8v oil passages don't line up....
