Glad you found the culprit. I once unplugged my freq valve just for kicks to see if a person could tune around it. Not happening, as you've found out, runs wayyyy too lean.

I did the same thing for the same reason, on a 7200 11.11. Marked and reinstalled the turbo wheels in exactly the same position they were in prior to removal, hoping and praying with crossed fingers...

Gotcha. Even if the fuel jumps running is a fault somewhere, vs. forced to run by unplugging the AFM switch, there should be no fuel injecting until the engine is running. There are CIS experts here...
