I just fill and flush several times..you can let it soak, however I think the agitation of blowing it out several times scrubs better. Keep filling and blowing it out till there no more discoloration...

I have restored a few older A/C systems..some of them very nasty inside. Hose replacement is always a good idea.

For flushing out the A/C system, I have always used NAPA "Air Brake Anti-Freeze"...
