Maybe an aluminum strip countersunk with stainless flat heads? Or countersunk makrolon and aluminum tape as trim. Truthfully think it looks pretty cool and purposeful even as-is.

Such a cool history...this was surely a suspension failure of some sort, even if a tire were going down one wouldn't expect such a violent result. For it to happen in T1 though, scary timing!

Only application I can see it making sense for is on a race...

I have US spec bumpers still so this could be 6" different for you...but I have both an 88 3.2 911 and an 81 SL and the SL is bigger in every direction...I don't think you have anything to worry...
