Yep, three of these plastic pieces in the tunnel....

Yep, three of these plastic pieces in the tunnel. Throttle bush. They get old and fall apart. One under the shifter, one under the e-brake and one near the shift coupling.

If I understand you, you have completely removed the special set screw from the side of the shift receiver and now the piece will not come off the shaft. I just did this and I believe it wiggled off...
