Too much, and the softer fixed nuts in the mount will strip, necessitating the two wrench removal method. (PITA)

When I did the first alt. rebuild on my MFI 73 T, the alt. I removed was a Valeo.
I was the second owner when I purchased the car in 1979, so I can't guarantee that is what the factory put in it.

I'm assuming the 923 also takes the 1.25 (coarse) thread pitch?

When I dig into it, I might end up going to McMaster for something in the 55 mm...
