I had always heard that it was better than rack and pinion, but rack and pinion was cheaper to make, so we got rack and pinion. Basically, marketing.

I voted for 2008, I think a lot of people never recovered from that either financially or mentally. Though I can certainly see 2020/2021 being worse.

Suggestion/hint. Put painters tape down around the headlight before starting, perhaps more than one layer. Helps protect paint from scratches if something slips while doing the work.
