This is the S02 running north from Almunecar, Andalucia, Spain. We just got back from a week of riding. A wonderful, sweet mountain road. Great twisties, but not too many hairpins, grippy pavement,...

I found a tire that will fit the S and give better traction on unpaved roads. It is the Pirelli that Ducati provides on the Multistrada, and it comes in the right sizes: 120-70-17front and 180-55-17...

No, the roads don't suck. I've ridden on many of the ones on the clips. Perhaps I am a critic. But perhaps there might be an interesting follow-up discussion of riding technique, too.

Here's my...

I'm not all that impressed by the riding. On the Stelvio clip he's shifting up when he gets to about 3.5 or 4K rpm. He'd have much more control over the bike at higher rpms.

I had one of these on my bike at one point, but my installation at the wheel was not nearly as good as Luca's. Eventually the magnet fell off, and I got a GPS anyway.

But the accuracy can be very...

I notice that the Hossack fork from the K1200S has not made it over to the new R bikes.

Look at the valve covers! They are at most 2004 twin sparks. They are not at all like the 2005 R1200GS 8-sided covers. The tank looks like something off an R1150R or a rockster.

If that is BMW's...

We know, sort of, what the R1200GS is supposed to weigh (lots of different figures, even on BMW website), but what I really want to know is how many pounds the 167hp of the new K40 will have to push.
