The A/C systems are not good and drain power.
It’s probably 3-5k for Griffiths improvement but the lack of good A/C just prompted me to sell my
87.
That price is high, at that price it better be...

Would you buy a car with damage reported on Carfax?

Looking at a 2012 C2S, very nicely optioned.
Priced about where it should be.
Damage reported 2x.
Rear bumper once, front bumper other time.
Would have to buy remotely.

Prices are high

Seems like prices are high right now.
I have been passively looking for a 981 Cayman S for a long time.
A few months ago, a nice one could be found for 40-45k all day.
Now, everything seems 5k...

Great question.
I have driven several 987S cars and really like them.
I have driven one manual 981s and liked it.
I have only driven one 997.1 but it was clearly not a good example so I didn’t...

Which would you buy?

I am moving out of my 87 Carrera.
I have always liked Caymans, whether it be gen 1, 981S or Cayman R.
I also know folks love both 997.1 and 997.2ís.
I know this has been discussed before but...

Actually, that color could create some upside from the right buyer. It will be interesting to see if you do list it.

You would get tons of IM's and inquiries anywhere in the 20's.
Although the market has softened, I would say 33k easy.

I put over 2k into mine within the first 6 months of owning the car, so if it is dialed in and is what you want, do it.

I think around 45k is the right number.
But as others have said, if you love the car and trust the seller, you may not want 2k to get in the way.

I bought a 2004 Boxster S. I will admit that they look like baby 911's but the fun factor per dollar is inverse of the 87 911.
Much more fun to drive than my 87 911.
I love the Caymans.
If I only...

I have an 87 Carrera and just picked up a 2004 Boxster S.
I'm the contrarian here, but dollars to donuts for pure driving fun, I'm finding I choose the boxster more than the 87.

I have my eye on that car because if it checks out, it is a crazy good deal. That makes me suspicious enough that I would want to do the transaction in person.

Your car has a fair amount less miles and Chiffon White is a pretty sweet color. There is also a big difference between 40 and 45k. 45k for an SC is a lot, maybe for a similar G50 Carrera.

45k is the number for a perfect SC and with either lower mileage or a top end rebuild done for sure with service records/history. And that is only if you really like that color. I think that car...
