WTB turbo transaxle main shaft bolt

Hi,

I am looking for the bolt and washer that holds the 5th gear onto the main shaft in the turbo transaxle. I am sure there are a few trashed transaxles out there that someone would like to sell...

You can't get lethally electrocuted doing this job. You may get a welded wrench and a ruined battery and still get hurt but electrocution will not be the cause.

Not much room. Maybe an inch or so on each side. I went to manual steering and the steering shaft shoots just between the 3 and 4 exhaust ports about an inch from the head.

It's a snug fit but...

Where is this car located? If you are up for doing the repairs on your own it won't be nearly that expensive. What do they mean by a "leaking head bolt"?

I don't think grounding one of those posts is what would have caused your starter to run. The wire from the key goes positive to engage the solenoid so it's possible you shorted from the main battery...

I am not certain of it but I believe the rear pinion bearing is also larger in the turbo box. I don't think you can simply swap a turbo ring and pinion into a non turbo box.

My heater valve body split in half a while back and I need to get a new valve. How many others have had theirs split and does a new one from pelican hold up well? I'd hate to replace it just to have...

If you are concerned about it, you could cycle the fuel pump a few times or jumper it to circulate it without the engine running to flush it all back to the tank. Then the next time it gets pumped...

I'd say go for it, especially with both cars. People make auto to manual conversions out to be a big deal when they really aren't.

Are you certain that the clutch fork is engaging the throw out bearing? Are you sure it is actually pulling the fingers on the pressure plate?
